How to Install KDE Desktop Environment in Kali Linux

What is KDE Desktop environment?

the KDE Community is an international technology team dedicated to creating a free and user-friendly computing experience, offering an advanced graphical desktop, a wide variety of applications for communication, work, education and entertainment and a platform to easily build new applications upon.

KDE have a strong focus on finding innovative solutions to old and new problems, creating a vibrant atmosphere open for experimentation.

KDE is much lighter and is fully customizable.

Install KDE Desktop Environment

SO fire up your terminal and type the following command

root@seven:~# apt-get install kde-plasma-desktop

You will be asked do you want to continue press y and hit enter.

This process will take time. It totally depends on your internet connection speed.So wait until it finishes downloading the packages.

When package are installed you will be presented with a prompt that will tell you about display manager just press ok

Now you will be asked to select the display manager select gdm3 and hit enter.And this is going to finish the installation.

Now reboot your kali Linux and At the login screen before Login switch the window manager to KDE plasma workspace from the drop down as shown in the below picture. Now you can log in and continue.
